Telecommunications

Overview

Attendants will learn how to support today's phone and telecommunications systems. This includes telephone hardware support, voicemail, PBX systems and more!

If you attend this workshop, you will also receive hands-on experience in managing the telephone infrastructures. Each attendant will receive their own personal phone technicians tool kit to take with you when you leave!. During the training session, you will get hands-on experience moving Central Office lines, changing phone extensions, terminating connectors, short-run cable installation and labeling. All according to existing EIA/TIA and ISOC standards.

You Will Learn

Characteristics of basic and advanced telecomm architectures and protocols.
LAN technologies as an interconnection technology for supporting IP Telephones.
Frame Relay and ATM packet switching technologies.
The transition of PSTN to a next generation architecture.

Who Can Benefit

IT professionals who might be comfortable with PC networks, but need the basics on phone systems. Individuals new to the communications industry. Office managers, General managers (those who have to settle the mess when employees switch desks or leave), and anyone who wants to learn the basics of tele communications and how to support it.
